În cazarma pompierilor din Livermore (SUA) un bec lumineaza din 1901

Becul Shelby de 4 wati, aflat în cazarma pompierilor din localitatea Livermore, din SUA, a fost aprins pentru prima data în ianuarie 1901 si de atunci nu s-a stins niciodata. Astazi este venerat ca simbol al unei natiuni care nu se da batuta. Ilumineaza America de 107 ani, scrie ziarul italian La Repubblica, citat de Rompres.

A fost donat de un binefacator civic pentru a-i ajuta pe pompieri sa gaseasca lanternele cu petrol în întuneric si de atunci a luminat neîntrerupt. Arde de un milion de ore, într-o tara care venereaza astazi becul ca pe un totem al propriilor sperante. Parabola becului nemuritor este incredibila. A intrat în Cartea Recordurilor unde este înregistrata ca o ciudatenie demna de muzeul bizareriilor.

Produs de o companie din Ohio, Shelby, becul sta atîrnat de un fir de 60 de cm, de tavanul cazarmii cu numarul 4555 de pe East Street din Livermore, o localitate de care lumea a auzit deoarece gazduieste cele mai sofisticate laboratoare de arme pentru razboaiele viitorului. Becul a fost celebrat în anii ’70, unul dintre deceniile cele mai amare ale perioadei postbelice americane, de un jurnalist de la CBS, Charles Kuralt, un reporter care a renuntat la temele razboaielor si catastrofelor pentru a se dedica micilor povesti ale vietii, explicînd ca „în spatele fiecarei ferestre luminate exista o poveste omeneasca de istorisit”.

Pompierii au decis însa ca se ajungea prea usor la el si atunci l-au înaltat. A fost chemat un electrician care trebuia sa intervina pe firul originar, învelit înca în pînza. Timp de 22 de minute, pentru prima data în 93 de ani, becul s-a stins ca un pacient supus unui transplant cardiac, dar nu a murit. Filamentul a reînceput sa emita lumina. Din Texas, din orasul Fort Worth, unde un alt bec longeviv ardea neîntrerupt, într-un teatru, de 88 de ani, s-a cerut imediata descalificare a rivalului din California, pentru acele 22 de minute de „coma”, dar curatorii Guiness, dupa o dezbatere ampla au emis sentinta ca nu s-a întrerupt continuitatea, tot asa cum un pacient nu moare în timpul unui bypass sau transplant.

Potrivit unui sondaj realizat pe 2.000 de persoane, majoritatea barbatilor petrec un an întreg din viata “holbându-se” la femei, scrie Daily Express.

Potrivit cercetarii, fiecare barbat vede în medie 11 femei pe zi pe care le admira timp de cel putin doua minute fiecare. Astfel, se ajunge la un total de cinci zile si jumatate pe an, de unde si cele 350 de zile într-o viata de durata medie.

Femeile, pe de alta parte, reusesc sa priveasca în medie doar doi barbati pe zi, timp de un minut si jumatate.

Dupa un examen tarziu (orele 18-20) am mers cu Ionut la un supermarket sa luam cate ceva. El avea un rucsacel iar eu un dosar asa ca am decis sa le lasam la intrare intr-un dulapior ca sa nu ne incurce. Zis si facut, numai ca… nu stiu cum, dar am reusit sa las jumatate de cheie in usita. OUPS! Probleme! Cautam paznicul sa ne ajute. Dupa ce am asteptat cateva minute bune sa incheie o convorbire telefonica, vine si ne spune: “E imposibil sa se rupa o cheie!” Nu imi venea sa cred. Eu ii aratam jumatatea de cheie si el imi spunea ca e imposibil sa se rupa. Ma rog. “In cazul asta ce facem?” “Mergeti la seful de magazin”. Ajung eu la usa respectiva si ma gandeam ca cine stie peste ce “dulap” de om dau. Cand colo, o fata slabuta, “An@” (conform ecusonului) lucra la un calculator. Aflu ca ea e persoana pe care o cautam si vine sa vada cum rezolvam problema (nu de alta dar dosarul incuiat continea materia pe care trebuie sa o prezint la o restanta peste 10 zile).

Ma asteptam sa vina cu o dublura a cheii, dar ea a aparut cu un cutit de macelar. Nu a reusit decat sa scoata cheia ramasa in usita, nimic mai mult. Dupa incercari zadarnice si intrebari in genul “De ce nu ati incercat sa umblati mai usor?”(de parca schimba ceva), scot o agrafa de birou din geanta si cat ai zice sternocleidomastoidian, An@ deschide usita dulapiorului. Agrafa se confisca “pentru alte cazuri simlare” iar noi ne alegem alt dulapior, dupa care plecam la cumparaturi.

Azi, in autobuz, grabita ca de obicei, intre un examen si un pui de somn, blocata in traficul greoi de Bucuresti, am observat ca oamenii in varsta nu mai zambesc. De jur imprejur vedeam doar fete incruntate, triste, colturile gurii lasate in jos, parca ingreunate. Din cand in cand parca se schimba ceva, dar era doar o grimasa de durere, la o miscare brusca sau amorteala. M-am uitat pe geam si am vazut o multime de castani infloriti. Dar cine sa se mai bucure cand ii vede? Imbatranim in autobuze, cu plasele pline de mancare, cu fruntea incruntata la gandul ca “era mai bine INAINTE”. Facem pasi mici, dam din coate, ne rastim si ne ranim si cand ne uitam in urma… deja avem nepoti… si Doamne, de cand nu am mai zambit!

O fetita plangea azi in autobuz. O tinea una si buna ca ea vrea “stadion rosu“. Bunica era nervoasa, nu stia ce sa mai faca sa nu mai planga odorul. Avea o punga cu caramele din care ii scotea bombonele nepoatei sa o impace. Dar cea mica striga intruna: “Vreau boboooooo! Vreau stadion roooooooooooosu!”

Abia dupa vreo 10 minute a inteles bunica. Fata vroia caramele in hartie rosie si vroia sa spuna “staniol” rosu. Si femeia nu mai avea in punguta decat galben si portocaliu. Greu si cu copiii astia!… Mai ales cand nu vorbesti pe limba lor.
